Better sourcing starts with a clearer brief
Before comparing suppliers, define the product, the destination and the decisions the proposal needs to support.
A sourcing conversation becomes more useful when everyone is describing the same need. A product name and a target price are a starting point. A good brief also explains how the product will be used, what matters most and which details still need investigation.
Describe the requirement before the solution
Start with the intended use, destination market, expected quantity and delivery window. Include the specifications you can confirm and distinguish them from preferences. If you have a sample, drawing or existing product reference, explain which features matter and which can change.
Make proposals comparable
- Product: dimensions, materials, performance requirements and acceptable alternatives.
- Volume: initial order, possible repeat demand and any uncertainty.
- Quality: evidence, samples, inspection points and how acceptance will be agreed.
- Delivery: destination, packaging, timing and the responsibilities to clarify.
- Support: documentation, spare parts, training or other needs after delivery.
Leave room for the questions that matter
Technology equipment, electric mobility and renewable energy systems each require a different brief. Identify compatibility, documentation, support and destination-market requirements that need specialist review before agreeing an order.
AFROBYTE supports supplier identification and procurement coordination. A clear brief helps us establish the proposed work, the information required and where specialist input is needed.
Your first step
Prepare a one-page requirement with a reference image or specification, destination, quantity range and target date. Mark anything undecided. Use it to start a sourcing and procurement conversation, then explore the selected sourcing sectors.
